About Lisa
Lisa Deane is a proud wife and mother who began her start in Madison, CT in 1996. Since then, Lisa has become a well-known volunteer, anti-drug activist, and co-owner of Brother Mike's restaurant, dedicated to her late brother-in-law who went missing during the Vietnam War. Her journey in politics began when she worked alongside former State Representative Noreen Kokoruda, who recognized Lisa's passion for putting her community's needs first.
Sadly in 2018, Lisa and her family suffered the tragic loss of her son, Joe, at the age of 23 to fentanyl poisoning. Using her remarkable leadership skills, Lisa has since founded demandZERO which has become a nationally-recognized non-profit that provides resources for law enforcement to help combat drug trafficking as well as education programs for those affected by drug use. Through her work, Lisa has been interviewed twice by national news, has partnered with NBC Connecticut to host a Student Summit statewide, has been appointed member of the state's Opioid Settlement Advisory Committee and the Research and Data Sub-Committee.
Lisa began her run for state representative of the 101st House District because she hopes to bring her true love for service and her commitment to upholding local values to our state capital.
